"Aren't I just the cutest? My mummy calls me the little GREEN MONKEY! I swing all over my cage using all my toys and swings and ropes! I always have fun and always have to be part of what's going on in the house! My name is Maya and I am
two and a half years old at this writing. My new family's lives have changed so much since I came here - mummy says life was not half as fun before I showed up! I guess that's a good thing!

"Hi, I'm Abby. I'm an
9-year-old CAG (Congo African Grey). I am a feather plucker. When I
get nervous about anything, I pluck my feathers. It's kind of like when
human kids suck their thumbs - it gives me comfort. I go through periods
of plucking and then letting my feathers grow back. Mum also says I'm the most beautiful, regal lady she's ever seen! I just love my mummy!! :-) "
Please be sure that if you have a plucker in your house, that you take him or
her to your Avian Veterinarian to rule out any illnesses or allergies.
Plucking can be caused by a variety of things. |

Hi, my name is Cheek (that's short for cheeky bird!). I am a normal grey cockatiel. My mum doesn't know how old I am but I'm older than 5. When I came to our home, I was really wild. Nobody could walk by my cage without me thrashing around and being very scared. I have come a long way. I now sit on mum's shoulder and let her scratch my head and pet my back. It took a long time, but I finally trust my mum now. There are still some other humans in this house that I'm not sure about yet, but I think in time I will let them pet me also! |

Hello, there. My name is Theodore. I'm a Timneh African Grey
(TAG). I am a really nice boy. I am a boy for sure because I've been DNA tested.
I'm a pretty laid-back fellow. I don't pluck my feathers out like my
sister, Abby. She's one of those high-strung Congo chicks. We
Timnehs don't get as stressed out as those Congos do. Sheesh - they should
relax!
